Today I thought it would be fun to take a look back at my two of my old favourites posts and see if I still feel the same about all the products.
Starting with ‘my top 5 favourite lipsticks‘ post from March 2014!
This is such an old post, from when my blog was only a few months old, it’s so funny seeing how different I look in the photos in this post.
The first lipstick is Creme Cup, this was one of my first MAC lipsticks, I remember wearing this so often a few years ago! I I actually got rid about a year ago, I never wear these cool toned pale pink shades any more!
The next lipstick is Pink Nouveau (I really had a thing for blue toned colours three years ago!!). I still own this one but I can’t remember the last time I wore it, it’s actually a really nice shade I’m going to have to start wearing it again!
Russian Red is still my all time favourite red lipstick, I mainly wear this for special occasions though.
Hot Tahiti is a more everyday red shade, as it is fairly sheer lipstick. I don’t wear this as much as I used to, nude lipsticks seem to have taken over my life slightly at the moment!
YSL Peach Passion is such a pretty shade, but not one I really reach for any more. The formula can look slightly patchy, especially on dry lips so I tend not to wear this as much now that my lipstick collection has grown.
Seeing these old favourites has definitely made me realise how much less adventurous I have become when choosing lipsticks! I’m definitely going to dig out some of these shades to wear again!
This next post is ‘My Top Foundations‘ from April 2014.
Since this post my foundation collection has grown by quite a lot (little bit obsessed), so it’s interesting to see my first HG foundations and where my foundation obsession started!
First up is Nars Sheer Glow. The shade I was using, Mont Blanc, is so pink toned that it just didn’t work for my neutral toned skin. I’m pretty sure I actually gave this one to my mum not that long after writing that post. I have repurchased this in the shade lighter(the lightest they make), Siberia, and I do still use this, not very often though as annoyingly I find Siberia a little too light.
Secondly is Estee Lauder Double Wear. This is still one of my all time favourites with its long wearing full coverage. I repurchased this about a year ago, I had real trouble being matched to the correct shade when I originally bought it, but I now use the shades Cool Bone or Shell, which are much better matches.
Mac Studio Fix was my everyday foundation for such a long time. Just like the other two, I have now found a different shade that is a much better match, NW13. I don’t use this anymore, it is a good foundation but I love trying out new ones so I didn’t repurchase this when it ran out. I do actually still own this, but only in a darker shade that I use when fake tanning!
Lastly, Illamasqua Skin Base in White. To be honest I had forgotten about this little gem! I haven’t had to use this in a while as I’ve been able to match my foundation shades a lot better. I would still definitely use this if I had a foundation that needs lightening, as it is a great product!

I had completely forgotten about so many of these products that I used to love! Do you still use any of your old favourites?
